Depth of Field: August 31, 2018

Melanie Link-Perez, OSU Herbarium curator and instructor in the Department of Botany & Plant Pathology, shows the rows of sori (groups of spore cases) dotting the underside of a coastal fern she collected, a coast polypody (Polypodium scouleri). Established in the 1880s, the OSU Herbarium houses historic collections from pioneer botanists and continues to add to its impressive catalog of regional and global specimens.
